The fast-changing environment, the culture and structure of the organization, the several processes that occur simultaneously and the high risk associated to the Innovation activities are only a few of the aspects that have an influence on the preparation of the organization to develop a sustained innovation -- Therefore, the efforts of organizations to bring innovation into practice are framed by complexity, which is accentuated as the diversity of businesses and geographies in which the organization is present increases (and therefore the surrounding contexts and cultures) -- An alternative to contribute to Innovation-based growing and sustainability within companies in the midst of complexity, is to design and implement an innovation model, which is suitable to the particular characteristics of each company and includes an innovation process as a main component -- This paper proposes an innovation process design for “Grupo EPM”, a Latin American Business Group of the public utilities sector -- This Innovation Process is adapted to the organization’s Innovation management model and is designed with a scope for the whole business group -- This proposal was based on a literature review regarding the business innovation process, the conduction of interviews about innovation activities in the company and the comparison with cases of other multinational companies -- The result is an innovation process that introduces 3 moments of innovation control, as a mean to face the characteristics of a multilatin and multi-business company
