Colombia is steadily consuming of the hydrocarbon reserves without replacing them pushing to consider unconventional resources as a solution for the country's energy problem. The Sweets Spots are points with the highest production rates within an unconventional deposit and their determination depends on factors of organic quality, rock quality and mechanical quality. The present study aims to locate intervals with organic quality conditions that indicate the presence of Sweet Spots in the Middle Magdalena Valley basin, based on an electrofacial and petrophysical studies using the Gamma Ray and Resistive logs of the Cagüi-1 and Guane-1 wells. Two intervals with high content of organic matter were identified in La Luna Formation and two more in Simití Formation, these intervals are equivalent to marine environments identified with the electrofacies. The presence of these intervals in the Late Cretaceous formations indicates exploitable amounts of hydrocarbons and the Middle Magdalena Valley presents an attractive scenario for the development of an unconventional field that replace Colombia's reserves.
