dc.description.abstractBusiness model innovation is a key factor for business success. It is even more important than innovation of products and services. Business model innovation allows organizations to increase revenues, competitive advantage and sustainability, thanks to the new logics of value creation and capture established to generate economic growth. Therefore, this piece of work aims to identify what managers should take into account to innovate in their business model. Accordingly, literature published in renowned databases from 2002 to 2018 is reviewed and studied. Then, the elements for effective innovation management by directors and managers, the core elements as the fundamental support and the functional elements to achieve a successful innovation are defined. Thus, this proposal is built on the integration of the results of the most important research projects carried out about tools, patterns and strategy in business model innovation. As a result, a guide including the innovation process in business model and the elements associated with each stage, in order to support management is presented.
