The objective of this research work is to know the social representations of motherhood and the incidence of these in the decision to have children, through semi-structured interviews with a group of women -- The social representations will be approached from the definition that makes them Moscovici, who argues that they are composed of three dimensions: information, attitude and field of representation to finally contrast with the decision to have children -- With regard to motherhood, previous research shows that it is a concept that has changed and continues to change over the years, according to cultures and times -- The interviews were conducted with four women between the ages of 22 and 24, the results indicate that the four women interviewed have a positive representation of motherhood and are in favor of it, despite the fact that it seems to them that motherhood is a process of accompaniment that It lasts a lifetime and requires great efforts, for them motherhood is a great responsibility which makes it difficult for them to define it -- However, all the women interviewed want to be mothers someday, although this is not in their short-term plans, since they want to prepare themselves better for it first and achieve a better professional and personal development
