dc.description.abstractOne of the most significant cases of corruption in recent times was the case of Odebrecht, one of the largest construction companies in Latin America, which was involved in a bribery network paying approximately USD 788 million to obtain contracts in 12 countries, involving officials and political parties -- This document contains a summary of the company, the events that took place and the impact on the countries involved, clarifying that research and processes are currently continuing to those involved -- Additionally, the panorama of corruption at the global level of these countries is analyzed according to the corruption perception index of 2017; the profile on corruption is presented according to the national competitiveness report 2017 - 2018, and a comparative study of Corporate Governance in Latin America conducted by Robert W. McGee in 2009; ending with the lessons and recommendations of the case
