| dc.description | El Burlador de Sevilla y convidado de piedra de Tirso de Molina tuvo una rápida y prolífica difusión en el continente europeo; pero no nos parece exagerado afirmar que la versión de Molière es tal vez la más acabada y profunda de aquellas ofrecidas durante el mismo siglo XVII fuera de España. En Dom Juan ou le Festin de Pierre de Molière es posible reconocer los elementos que asocian esta pieza de 1665 con toda la corriente del mito inaugurado por el mercedario español: las aventuras del seductor y el final trágico de manos de la estatua. Pero interesa resaltar la originalidad del dramaturgo francés, particularmente en el tratamiento del personaje principal que, a nuestro juicio, se presenta al espectador como una figura aún más pérfida que el Don Juan original. Cabe aquí preguntarse acerca de las posibles intenciones de su autor y revisar el contexto de producción y recepción de la nueva pieza, a fin de verificar un posible agravamiento moral del protagonista. | |
| dc.description | Tirso de Molina´s El Burlador de Sevilla y convidado de piedra had a quick, expansive diffusion througout the European continent; however we think it is not an exageration to affirm that Molière´s versión is the deepest, most perfect of those found in the XVIIth century outside Spain. In Molière´s Dom Juan ou le Festin de Pierre the elements that link this 1665 work with the course of the myth set by the Spanish Mercedarian friar are recognizable: the adventures of the seducer and the tragic end at the hands of the statue. However it is interesting to highlight the originality of the French dramatist, particularly in his approach to the main character which, in our opinión, is presented to the spectator as more insidious than the original Dom Juan. We may wonder about the author´s possible intentions and check the context in which this new work was produced and received in order to verify a possible moral worsening of the protagonist. | |
