| dc.description | La confusión del espíritu alemán con una presunta disposición estética innata aún irrumpe ocasionalmente en las ciencias sociales y la crítica. Para discutirla es preciso remontarse a mediados del siglo XVIII, momento seminal del incipiente nacionalismo alemán. Allí se revela la programática campaña de apropiación que ciertos pensadores germánicos emprendieron respecto del arte y la estética provenientes de Gran Bretaña, con la intención consciente de cortar todo vínculo con la cultura francesa, hegemónica en el continente europeo. De entre esos pensadores se destaca J. G. Herder, que hizo importantes contribuciones lingüísticas y poéticas apoyándose en materiales británicos. | |
| dc.description | The confusion of the German spirit with an allegedly innate aesthetic disposition occasionally still comes out in Social Sciences and criticism. To discuss it, we must go back to mideighteenth century, a seminal moment for nascent German nationalism. There, we begin to see the programmatic campaign to appropriate British arts and aesthetics carried out by some German thinkers, who in an intentional way tried to break ties with French culture, hegemonic throughout the continent. Among them stands J. G. Herder, who made relevant linguistic and poetic contributions relying on British materials. | |
