| dc.description | Hay una frase del Tratado de San Luis María Grignon de Montfort, que reza: “Enmudezca aquí toda lengua” (Grignon de Montfort, 2014, párrafo 158). La frase es aclamada por el Santo ante la revelación por el Santo Espíritu de Dios sobre el decisivo rol de la Bienaventurada siempre Virgen María a lo largo de la historia de la Salvación y, con especial énfasis, al fin de los tiempos. De igual modo, el gran poeta de Italia, tal como surge de la cita del epígrafe, se quejó de la pobreza de la palabra ante la sinigual experiencia de la visión Beatífica de la que formaba parte la Santísima Virgen, y lo hizo a pesar de haber sido él quien era considerado el re-fundador de la lengua italiana. Ambas frases tienen en común, amén del sentimiento mítico que las aúna, el carácter categórico y sugestivo, no sólo por la autoridad que conllevan sino porque se refieren a la palabra morigerándola; limitando su idoneidad; privándola de eficacia; al menos, en relación al conocimiento de determinadas realidades del mundo que, sin olvidar el sentimiento religioso que ambas detentan, puede ser aplicada, sin hesitación, a la comprensión de los valores en general. Lo dicho es el preludio de la tesis central de esta reflexión: La ineficacia de las palabras y de la razón para alcanzar -llegar a conocer- los valores. Intentaremos demostrar que los valores no se expresan a través de las palabras, simplemente, porque no se explican a través de la razón humana. Los valores se comprenden, es decir, se alcanzan a través de la emoción que genera en el sujeto la vivencia supra-empírica que de ellos se haga. Así, no siendo su fundamento -su “naturalis”- racional, la misma suerte correrá su medida -su “ratio”. Cf. (Maggio, 1992). De allí que la explicación lógico-causal de los valores mediante las palabras sea un método inadecuado para su comprensión. Por ello, como lo expresa acertadamente el más grande poeta de Italia, a veces, la palabra se hace corta y se hace vacío el concepto. | |
| dc.description | There is a sentence of the Treaty of Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort, which reads: "Silence all language here." The phrase is acclaimed by the Saint before the revelation by the Holy Spirit of God on the decisive role of the Blessed Virgin Mary always, throughout the history of Salvation and, with special emphasis, at the end of time. In the same way, the great poet of Italy, as it emerges from the quotation of the epigraph, complained of the poverty of the word before the peerless experience of the Beatific vision, of which the Blessed Virgin was part, and he did it, to Despite having been he, who is considered the re-founder of the Italian language. Both phrases have in common, in addition to the mythical feeling that unites them, the categorical and suggestive character, not only because of the authority they entail, but because they refer to the word by restraining it; limiting its suitability; depriving it of effectiveness; at least, in relation to the knowledge of certain realities of the world that, without forgetting the religious feeling that both hold, can be applied, without hesitation, to the understanding of values in general. What has been said is the prelude to the central thesis of this reflection: The ineffectiveness of words and reason, in order to reach -to know- values. We will try to demonstrate that values are not expressed through words, simply because they are not explained through human reason. The values are understood, that is, they are reached through the emotion generated in the subject by the supra-empirical experience that is made of them. Thus, not being its foundation - its "naturalis" - rational, same luck will run its measure - its "ratio". Hence, the logical-causal explanation of values, through words, is an inadequate method for understanding them. Therefore, as the greatest poet of Italy rightly expresses, sometimes the word becomes short and the concept becomes empty. | |
