dc.description | La tesis Naturaleza muerta.
dc.description | The thesis Still life. Time always comes to say goodbye is proposed as an installation that, through the symbolism of flowers and thanks to visual scenes of still lives, patterns and atmospheres that unquiet the sensory responses of other senses, composes a metaphor about lifetime transitions. It is Printmaking and its diverse possibilities the medium to translate in a more proper way a cluster of memories, which leave traces in the matrix and in the time.
An antique book of biology, found in a dusty family wardrobe, is the trigger of the work shown in this thesis and, recalling that there was a chapter dedicated to The cycle of butterflies, the motifs of botanical senescence that characterize the piece arise. In this way, a parallelism is set among the vital flows present in the vegetable world, death and the possibility of life after it, when making the transposition of time concept through the assembly of the installation.
Hence, from the reflections of Anna Maria Guasch and Didi-Huberman around the notions of archive and memory, the following questions were posed: how to materialize a memory?, in what way can the installation be a medium to evoke the passage of time? and how to reinterpret past events from working with printmaking techniques?
