| dc.description | Este artículo se propone analizar la cobertura mediática del doble femicidio de María José Coni y Marina Menegazzo, ocurrido en febrero de 2016 en Ecuador. Se releva un conjunto de notas correspondientes a tres medios masivos, donde se indaga por los modos de nombrar a las víctimas y el énfasis puesto en determinados aspectos como el lugar de los hechos, la juventud y el ambiente festivo, entre otros. Desde la teoría de los pánicos morales, articulada con una lectura feminista del material, se sostiene que estos relatos no sólo invisibilizaron la trama de violencia machista que subyace a cualquier femicidio, sino también alentaron los miedos sobre las formas de habitar los momentos de ocio entre las y los jóvenes, ubicando como único destinatario posible del discurso periodístico al público adulto. | |
| dc.description | This article aims to analyze the media covering of the double femicide of María José Coni and Marina Menegazzo, which happened in Ecuador in February 2016. A number of articles from three digital massive media are analyzed in order to identify the ways of naming the victims and the emphasis on particular aspects such as the place of the scene, the youth and the relaxed atmosphere, among others. From the point of view of the theory of moral panics and in combination with a feminist reading of the corpus, it is claimed that these narratives not only made invisible the machista structure that underlies any femicide but they also contributed to increase the fear of the free time practices of young people; and at the same time they made the adult population the only possible addressee of media discourse. | |
