Resumen
To celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897 the building was painted red and thereafter called the Red House. That original building was destroyed in 1903 during the water riots. Construction on the new building on the same site began in 1904 and was opened to the public on February 4th, 1907. The building here is decorated with a red, white and black banner. This is traditionally done to public buildings in Trinidad and Tobago around Independence time. Postcard number C8648.
