dc.description.abstractThis tape is a record of a cross-section of the proceedings of the programme for Creole Day, put on by the Department of Language and Linguistics, Faculty of Arts and General Studies, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. It includes questions and discussions by Dr Ian Robertson and elderly patois speakers, most of whom came from Moruga. Their responses cover how they learned to speak patois and includes songs, stories and other elements of oral tradition.
