dc.description.abstract | Peter Farquhar, son of Canon Max Farquhar, was born in 1927 in Conakry, Guinea. He was educated at Sangre Grande Government School and Queen's Royal College. He also studied at the London School of Economics and was trained as an accountant and economist. He did a brief stint in the public service before joining Shell Oil Company. He joined the Democratic Labour Party at the invitation of Rudranath Capildeo and was Member of Parliament for Pointe-a-Pierre in 1961. He later went on to become leader of the Liberal Party. | |
