dc.description.abstractAfter a three-day National Consultation, the Trinidad and Tobago Tourist Board offered to sponsor a month-long Steelband Festival annually, aimed at attracting overseas visitors. The Board suggested the month of November and stated the plan would provide a full month of entertainment. Also, addressed is the steelbandsman role as performer, tuner, arranger, inventor and administrator and the working conditions of steelband performers.
