Resumen
In the present study, solution and emulsion polymerizations were carried out for
obtaining biodegradable products, using methyl oleate as starting material for the
reactions. In solution polymerizations two free radical initiators were use; 2,2-
azobis (2-amidopropane) dichloride and azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN). Also
anionic initiator 4-dimethylaminopirydine (DMAP) was used. The first was used to
polymerize methyl oleate with N,N- methylenbisacrylamide. The second was used
to polymerize methyl oleate without a crosslink agent. The last was used to
polymerize methyl oleate epoxide with and without crosslink agent. Also emulsion
polymerizations were done using sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate as surfactant.
Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and thin layer chromatography
(TLC) was used for analyzing the results.
