| dc.description.abstract | En 1993 el Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología y Medio Ambiente de Cuba, el Fondo Mundial para el Medio Ambiente (GEF) y el Programa de Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD), suscribieron el proyecto “Acciones prioritarias para consolidar la protección de la Biodiversidad en el Ecosistema Sabana-Camagüey”. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo dar a conocer uno de los resultados de este proyecto que es desarrollar capacidades en los sectores y comunidades de cinco provincias, así como su replica a todo el territorio nacional. Este Ecosistema ocupa una franja de aproximadamente 465 km a lo largo de la zona norte central de Cuba entre Punta Hicacos y la Bahía de Nuevitas. Su biodiversidad marina y terrestre tiene una gran significación nacional y regional, por la enorme variedad de especies y ecosistemas, y la riqueza de endémicos vegetales y animales, los valores escénicos, los recursos arqueológicos, entre otros. Para ello se desarrollo un módulo didáctico de formación ambiental básica que consta de folletos, infografías, videos y suelto afines con los temas físico-geográficos.
