One of strong associations between polymers as biomaterials are in field of skin reparation. Polymers are utilized for this purpose, some such as poly (vynil alcohol) (PVA) are used due to characteristics such as biocompatibility, non-toxicity, in addition to their ability of processing for hydrogels, fibers, scaffolds and thin films. Beside synthetic polymers, utilization of biopolymers are growing and being developed. In biopolymers, chitosan stands out due the capability of hurry the wound regeneration, immunological stimulation, fungi and bacteria static action and the collagen due the interaction with body tissues and support to cell growth. With the objective to attach the properties of PVA, chitosan and collagen, three different types of films was made: PVA, PVA/Quit and PVA/Quit/Col. These films was characterized by Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR) that indicates interactions between PVA and chitosan. Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) showed the PVA/Quit and PVA/Quit/Col films have miscibility between the components. Thermogravimetric Analysis (TG) showed higher thermos stability of PVA after the addition of chitosan. Sweeling tests have demonstrated the films PVA/Quit and PVA/Quit/Col had higher swelling degrees than PVA. Water Vapor Permeation showed that PVA films have more permeability. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) showed that does not have separation between components. By the end, antibiogram analysis does not showed inhibition of bacterial activity. Therefore, the characteristics presented in this work stimulates the searching of results and applications of PVA/Quit/Col films in tissue engineering.
