Resumen
This study analyzes the dynamics of Brazilian structural external vulnerability in perspective compared to the other BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) in the period of high commodity prices from 2003 to 2012. Taking into account Given the need to achieve the proposed objectives, this study reviews the literature on external vulnerability, changes in the capitalist system, and the BRICS performance profile. The methodology is based on the indicators proposed by Filgueiras and Gonçalves (2007) and with statistical significance, especially in Kaminsky, Lizondo and Reinhart (1998), Chinn and Ito (2006), Loayza and Raddatz (2007) and Hausmann et al. (2011). This paper seeks to contribute to the literature on structural external vulnerability in Brazil in a comparative perspective during a period favorable to its economic growth.
