Resumen
This work aims the investigation of the permanence of a contemporary Brazilian regionalism tradition, based on some tales of the book Faca, published in 2003 by the cearense writer Ronaldo Correia de Brito. These tales are: “A espera da volante”, “Faca”, “Redemoinho”, “A escolha”, “Mentira de Amor” e “Cícera Candoia”. It is proposed to line a possible trajectory for a women’s representation in different kinds of regionalism that comes out in different moments in our literary panorama, basing on canonical works about this subject. Our own work is also based on the critical theory studies to comprovate our hypotheses and objectives. Our choice for this work is justified by the fact that the feminine characters, established in the author’s universe, revisit and reiterate some tradicional codes about genre, but also include new codes that are related with the present time. It reaffirms, in this way, the own survival of the recent regionalism, once that the characters assumed contravention roles, different from that is verified in ulterior phases, engendering the turn of the XIX century. Besides, our hypothesis is the effect of transgression, subversion and punishment, always present in stories and characters in the regionalism expression; it has coming a bit of consuming in the contemporary, to indict, in a certain way, the sociocultural transformations lived in our time.
