En búsqueda de un sentido artístico (Un estudio sobre las casas del sur de Quito y sus implicaciones estéticas en mi obra)

Abstract

El presente trabajo analiza las casas del sur de Quito, construidas entre los años sesenta y mediados de los ochenta del siglo XX; específicamente la manera en que éstas fueron edificadas dentro su contexto sociocultural; así como sus formas concretas, con el objetivo de formular elementos estéticos que me permitan explicar la representación de este tipo de viviendas en mi propia obra plástica. La hipótesis plantea que la representación artística de un sujeto u objeto no está exenta de la subjetividad de quien la representa. La metodología se basa en la investigación bibliográfica y de campo, junto con el análisis de la propia obra. La conclusión general hace referencia a la obra final de décimo semestre y sus elementos concretos y subjetivos.

This paper analyzes the houses from the south of Quito built between the 70’s until the middle 80’s of the last century, specifically the way in which these houses were built according to its social and cultural context; and also its concrete forms, with the objective of formulating aesthetic elements that allows me to explain the representation of this kind of houses in my own artistic work. The hypothesis states that the artistic representation of a subject or an object is not free from the subjectivity of who represents it. The methodology is based on literature and field research, along with the analyses of my own artistic work. The general conclusion relates to the final artistic work made on tenth semester and its concrete and subjective elements.
