dc.description.abstract | In this paper, we propose and analyze a new defragmentation strategy for elastic optical networks (EON). Such strategy is based on the cyclical identification of the most fragmented optical link followed by later reallocation of the lighpaths that share it. Our computer simulation results indicate that the considered scheme offers a blocking probability reduction of up to 48% in comparison to the situation where no defragmentation is deployed. | |
