Resumen
This text expresses part of our doctoral research carried out in a city-run day care nursery in a city in the state of Sao Paulo. Our immersion in this institution revealed, besides data directly related to our research object itself, domestic practices and adult-centered attitudes in the organization of space, time and the availability of materials / objects for a group of babies. This situation worries us and raises concerns because we know that this attitude does not favor the humanization of babies. Based on what was presented, the aim of this paper is to discuss, in the light of the historical-cultural activity theory, the importance and the need to put the babies in the core of educational planning. This theoretical perspective guides us to defend how important the teacher is, how to be more developed, and to observe and consider babies in their specificities to then plan, organize experiences and provide materials and objects that contribute to the development of children to their full potential. Education that aims humanization should consider the level of social development and the interests and needs of babies as the center of educational planning.
