dc.description.abstractThis paper presents a didactic sequence on the topic Environmental Racism, developed with the ninth year (eighth grade) of a public school in the city of Jaboticabal/SP. This theme was addressed with the objective that the students: connect the concept to everyday situations; recognize environmental injustices; reflect on the environmental and social problem of waste accumulation; think in attitudes that contribute to the increase of this situation and propose solutions for improvement. The study relied on a qualitative methodology. It was observed a good students achievement, which, during the sequence, reflected on issues such as: unequal distribution of wealth, consumerism, poverty cycle, food waste, waste selective collection, invisibility of urban peripheries population and public policies destined to risky populations.
