dc.description.abstractIt is proposed to this study, discuss the issue of cultural expressions, notably the holidays of a religious nature in the district of Gardenia, city of Ranchi -SP, which is placed in the context of the use and appropriation of space for the practice of tourism. Search is still through the seizure of the organizational aspects and the analysis of the opinions of the participants of the festivities, local residents see the possibilities as tourist attractions in cultural tourism proposal and contribute data to a suitable trip planning with reality question. Thus, adopted methodological procedures consisted of a literature review, interviews and standardized on-site observation. Based on investigations it was found that the existing cultural events in the district are recognized as potential tourist attractions in their participants. Regarding the profile of the participants the study revealed that majority are female and that the motivations to participate converge to the preservation of tradition.
