Resumen
In order to explore the relationships between Information Science and internationalization processes of Higher Education, it is performed an analysis of the published scientific research until 2015 through bibliometric and documentary techniques. The results show an increase in scientific production on this subject, mainly starting from 2005, in line with the growth of the scientific literature on internationalization. The works of authors from Europe, US and Australia prevail, while it is noted the existence of well-defined groups of authors and journals by sub-themes. Three fundamental dimensions are identified on the relationship between Information Science and internationalization of Higher Education: 1) the contribution of academic libraries to the internationalization of the campus through customization and personalization of services and collections for international and multicultural students, as well as supporting programs and services for transnational education, 2) the internationalization of schools and education programs in Information Science, mainly influenced by the Bologna process, and 3) the internationalization of the produced and published research on this discipline, through increased co-authorship and institutional cooperation.
