Dinâmicas espaciais recentes e estratégias de reprodução socioeconômica dos produtores rurais familiares dos Bairros Aeroporto e Córrego da Onça, município de Presidente Prudente-SP

Abstract

Este trabalho teve como objetivo compreender as estratégias adotadas pelos produtores rurais familiares dos Bairros Aeroporto e Córrego da Onça, localizados no município de Presidente Prudente-SP, bem como avaliar os resultados produzidos pela expansão da malha urbana nessas áreas. Para atingir esse objetivo foram adotados os seguintes procedimentos de pesquisa: revisão bibliográfica, levantamento de dados de fonte secundária (nos bancos de dados digitais do IBGE e SEADE), realização de entrevista, direcionada às lideranças das associações de produtores rurais dos bairros e aos funcionários de instituições públicas municipais e estaduais; e questionário, aplicado aos produtores rurais dos bairros pesquisados. O trabalho encontra relevância pelo fato de conceber os agricultores familiares como os sujeitos das suas próprias histórias, não passivos às transformações que ocorrem no espaço rural. As estratégias de reprodução socioeconômica são entendidas nesse trabalho como decisões tomadas pelas famílias rurais, no âmbito do trabalho e vida na terra. Constatou-se que o trabalho em tempo parcial (agricultura part-time), realizado por alguns membros da família, constituía uma possibilidade de melhorar a renda mensal familiar e, ao mesmo tempo, expressava a precarização, sobretudo pelo aumento da jornada de trabalho na área urbana e na propriedade rural; a combinação de atividades agrícolas e não agrícolas, como forma de melhorar a renda e ajudar no sustento da família, mostrando que não é apenas no interior das propriedades que os produtores estão buscando estratégias para elevar a renda familiar; o aumento da insegurança na área rural, justificada pela expansão do tecido urbano (sobretudo de áreas residenciais) sobre as áreas periurbanas; e a diversificação produtiva como uma decisão tomada pela família frente aos problemas com culturas específicas.

The objective of this study was to understand the strategies adopted by the family farmers of the Bairros Aeroporto and Córrego da Onça districts, located in the municipality of Presidente Prudente-SP, as well as to evaluate the results produced by the expansion of the urban network in these areas. In order to reach this goal, the following research procedures were adopted: bibliographic review, data collection from secondary source (in the IBGE and SEADE digital databases), interviewing, directed to the leaders of the associations of rural producers of the neighborhoods and to the employees Of municipal and state public institutions; questionnaire, applied to the rural producers of the neighborhoods surveyed. The work is relevant because it conceives the family farmers as the subjects of their own histories, not passive to the transformations that occur in the rural space. Socioeconomic reproduction strategies are understood in this work as decisions taken by rural families in the field of work and life on earth. Part-time work (part-time farming) by some members of the family constituted a possibility of improving family monthly income and, at the same time, expressed precariousness, especially by increasing working hours in the family. Urban area and rural property; the combination of agricultural and non-agricultural activities as a way to improve income and help support the family, showing that it is not only within the countryside that farmers are pursuing strategies to raise family incomes; the increase of insecurity in the rural area, justified by the expansion of the urban fabric (especially of residential areas) over the peri-urban areas; and productive diversification as a decision taken by the family against problems with specific crops.
