| dc.description | En este artículo se presenta una visión panorámica de la situación de las ciudades en tres niveles: mundial, latinoamericano y peruano. Los dos primeros tratan de un resumen exploratorio que recoge algunos datos y estadísticas de numerosas fuentes tales como Naciones Unidas, Banco Mundial y Price Waterhouse Coopers, aunque la fuente principal es la publicación bianual El estado de las ciudades del mundo 2012-2013 de United Nations Habitat. Para el nivel peruano se usaron fuentes de entidades nacionales, particularmente el estudio que e realizó en el Ministerio de Vivienda del Perú con un equipo multidisciplinario al que tuve la oportunidad de dirigir. El artículo inicia con una presentación de los nuevos conceptos, para luego ver el panorama urbano en los niveles internacional, latinoamericano y peruano. Se resalta el enfoque multidimensional para analizar las ciudades desde los puntos de vista social, económico, político gubernamental, del medio ambiente, de la infraestructura, etc. Son particularmente importantes los rankings de ciudades usando diferentes criterios; no sólo económicos. Para el caso peruano se resalta la demanda de vivienda y de suelo urbano en las principales ciudades. El artículo termina con una reflexión del tipo de ciudad deseable para el futuro y de la necesidad de realizar estudios y estadísticas nacionales bajo los enfoques urbanos aquí presentados. | |
| dc.description | This paper contains a panoramic overview of the situation of cities in three levels: World, Latin American, and Peruvian level. The first two deal with an exploratory summary that collects sorne data and statistics from several sources such as United Nations, World Bank, Price and Waterhouse Coopers, although the main sources are the biannual publication. The state of the world's cities 2012-2013 from United Nations Habitat. For the Peruvian level sources from national institutions were used, particularly the study conducted by the Ministry of Housing of Peru with a multidisciplinary team that I had the opportunity to lead. The paper begins with an introduction of new concepts, then, the study describes the urban situation in the three levels: international, Latin American and Peruvian levels. Jt highlights the multidimensional approach to analyze the cities from the social, economic, politic, governmental, environmental, infrastructure point of views. The rankings of cities are particularly important using dijferent criteria, not only economic.To the Peruvian case it enhances the housing and urban land demand in the main Peruvian cities. The pape, ends with a reflection on the type of desirable city for the future and the need for studies and national statistics presented here under the urban approaches. | |
