Since the Arquimedes times, the world knows the power of concentrating the sunligth into a volumen, even when it is still under discussion the creditibility of the story about the fleet that Arquimedes burned using large mirrors. There are different anecdotes about the use of mirrors to get high temperatures, but most of these date from the XVII century onwards, including one with Athanasius Kircher (1601-1680) who treated to reproduce the Arquemedes attempt.
