Oda al altar doméstico o la religiosidad popular bogotana: configuración estética y expresiones artísticas

Abstract

The following text is the result of an analysis about the configuration and development of popular domestic altars in Bogota from an aesthetic perspective, investigating from their connections, influences and reciprocity with some of the contemporary artistic and cultural manifestations. For this purpose, it is proposed to start from an analytical and historical journey of the phenomenon of popular religiosity from the first processes of American conquest and colonization, through the Republic, the modern era to the present; from where the different expressions and religious manifestations that we can define essentially as mestizas, and that in many ways, shape our identities, aesthetics and some expressions of the so-called popular culture.
