La dama de mantilla: Análisis de las representaciones de lo femenino en la revista Cromos

Abstract

La dama de Mantilla from the Colombian artist Coriolano Leudo, was the chosen image to get on the cover of the first ever edition of Cromos Magazine on the 15th of January 1916.

102 years have passed and since then and for this whole century, this lady has reappeared countless times not just in the inside pages but on the covers of this magazine. Sometimes embodied in her own skin, and many other times in the skin of other women whom have portrait her; reinventing the beauty ideal of each era. This is how La Dama de Mantilla has become an icon for the magazine.
