taking into consideration that different knowledge
areas are closely related between them. It underlines
the importance of allowing students to experiment the
interdisciplinary nature of these areas, and also the
construction of their own knowledge. It is necessary
to define the integrative elements that permit students
to internalize the applicability of knowledge, management
and interconnection between subjects. This
article presents a practical experience of the integration
of the subjects: Software Engineering and Data
bases, from an active learning approach, introducing
the RAIS strategy (Reproduction of the Industrial Environment
in the Classroom). It is presented a global
model that can be extended and adjusted according
to the knowledge integration of subjects that can also
promote an inter- and transdisciplinary curriculum.
Keywords: active learning, computer studies, inter
and transdisciplinary programmes.
