| dc.description | Suele concebirse lo sagrado y lo profano como ámbitos distintos, incluso antagónicos. En la antigua cultura sánscrita muchos casos sugieren una interacción más complejo entre realidades sagradas y profanas. Aquí se explora el Rāmāyaṇa, una de las dos grandes épicas hinduistas. En especial, el artículo revisa la construcción, dentro del Rāmāyaṇa, de una identidad religioso-literaria frente al pasado védico y los valores de la ortodoxia brahmánica. Con este fin se analiza la tematización que el texto hace de sí mismo como el "poema original" (ādikāvya), así como la lectura por figuras posteriores como Bhavabhūti (siglo VIII) y BhaṭṭaTauta (siglo X). | |

| dc.description | The sacred and the profane are usually conceived as different and even antagonistic realms. In the ancient Sanskrit tradition many examples suggesting a more complex interaction between sacred and profane realities. Here the Ramayana —one of the two great Hindu epics— is explored. The paper discusses the construction, within the Rāmāyaṇa, of a religious and literary identity against the values of Brahmanic orthodoxy and the Vedic past. To this end, the thematization of the Rāmāyaṇa as the "primordial poem" (ādikāvya), as well as the text’s appropriation by later figures like Bhavabhūti (VIII a.D.) and BhaṭṭaTauta (X a. D.), are analysed. | |
