dc.descriptionEl mito, entendido como módulo de la historia, se mueve delante de ella, legitimando y confi gurando el “alma” de las diferentes épocas históricas. Permite la posibilidad de reintegrar la tradición, funcionando como instrumento de profunda comprensión de los hechos de los que somos agentes y testigos, y ejerciendo el papel de idea-fuerza frente a la mentalidad laicista secularizada. Las recurrentes estructuras míticas se actualizan en la historia y se hacen inseparables de la cultura humana. En ocasiones, conscientemente o no, las construcciones históricas responden a mitologías propias de los historiadores. La historiografía europea todavía considera como paradigmas a Roma y la idea de la pax romana, concebida como la cumbre del éxito político. También la visión histórica del Próximo Oriente todavía hoy depende, en una porción de la historiografía occidental sobre el tema, de las concepciones ideologizadas existentes sobre el Antiguo Testamento, que han sido usadas para establecer criterios de autoridad y verosimilitud.

dc.descriptionThe myth, understood as the history module, moves in front of it, legitimation, and setting up the “soul” of the different historical periods. It allows the possibility of reintegrating the tradition, running as a tool of deep understanding of the facts of which are agents and witnesses, and exercising the role of theme against the mentality secularized secularist. The recurring mythic structures are updated in the history and become inseparable from human culture. Sometimes, consciously or not, the historical buildings respond to own historians mythologies. European historiography is still considered as paradigms to Rome and the idea of the pax romana, conceived as the summit of political success. Also the historical vision of the Middle East still depends, in a portion of the Western historiography on the subject, of the existing ideological conceptions of the Old Testament, to establish criteria of authority and credibility.
