| dc.description | El objetivo del trabajo radica en ofrecer una lectura posible de la fi gura del Libertador Simón Bolívar bajo tres categorías poco usuales en los anales de la historia e historiografía venezolana: lector, formador y reformador. En primer lugar, Su Excelencia evidenció una tendencia a la lectura profunda y en diferentes idiomas de los textos de su época; en segundo lugar, fue formador de sí mismo debido a la pérdida de las fi guras paternas a temprana edad y en la medida que la educación de su sociedad mantuana pudo ofrecerle en contacto con el Padre Andújar, Andrés Bello y Simón Rodríguez; y, en tercer lugar, reformador de la sociedad de la segunda década del siglo XIX (1810-1820) al momento de ser capaz de frenar la intestina guerra civil -que desmembraba todo proyecto de república- al ingeniar y firmar en Trujillo su proclama de guerra a muerte (15/06/1813). El análisis intertextual de diversas biografías permitió descifrar críticamente el suceso máxime que alteró radicalmente la vida pública del Estadista y Fundador de la Patria conocida como “la Gran Colombia”, la misma que fue disuelta por el egoísmo de sus más notables generales y compañeros queridos de otros tiempos. | |

| dc.description | The aim of this work is to offer one possible reading of the figure of Simon Bolivar in three categories unusual in the annals of history and historiography Venezuela: reader, educator and reformer.
