dc.descriptionEn el sistema osteomuscular, en los miembros inferiores una de las partes que más se afecta es la rodilla, con la consecuente limitación o discapacidad para la deambulación. Objetivo: Determinar la efectividad del tratamiento rehabilitador y el ejercicio isocinético aplicado antes y después de realizar meniscectomía parcial artroscópica. Metodología: investigación prospectiva y longitudinal. Se aplicó pre y postoperatorio terapia rehabilitadora a 15 pacientes y terapia rehabilitadora unida al ejercicio isocinético a 17 pacientes. Evaluados (inicio-pre-post-final) con la escala SF-36, encuesta Hughston clinic knee, EVA dolor, arco articular rodilla, trofismo cuádriceps y fuerza muscular. Resultados: El análisis estadístico se llevó a cabo en el programa SPSS versión 15.0 y pruebas t de Student, test de Wilcoxon, chi-cuadrado, Se encontró que el sexo masculino ocupo 59.4%, procedencia urbana 81%, EVA disminuyó significativamente de 7.5 a 1 punto, en ambos grupos mejoraron la amplitud articular y la fuerza muscular. El trofismo del cuádriceps fue la única variable que aumentó más en pacientes con isocinético. Conclusión: El inicio precoz del tratamiento de rehabilitación aunado con el ejercicio isocinético y sin él, antes de la cirugía y posterior a esta, garantizan una recuperación rápida y eficaz del paciente.

Objective: To determine the efficacy of rehabilitation and isokinetic exercise before and after partial arthroscopic meniscectomy. Methodology: Prospective, longitudinal research. Pre and post-operatory rehabilitation therapy was applied to 15 patients and rehabilitation therapy plus isokinetic exercise was applied to 17 patients. They were evaluated (starting-pre-post-final) by the SF-36 scale, the Hughston clinic knee, Pain Visual Evaluation, knee articular arc, cuadriceps trophism and muscular strength. Results: Statistical analysis (Student t, Wilcoxon test, chi square) was done by SPSS 15.0. Males were 59.4%, urban inhabitants 81%, Pain Visual Evaluation significantly decreased from 7.5 to 1 point, both groups improved the articular amplitude and the muscular strength. Cuadriceps trophism increased in patients with isokinetic exercise. Conclusion: Early start of rehabilitation treatment plus or without isokinetic exercise, before and after the surgery, makes sure an efficient recuperation of the patient.
