La nueva relevancia del animal en los debates críticos y en la imaginación estética no obedece solamente a una crisis del humanismo y sus jerarquías culturales y políticas, sino que conjuga saberes diversos en torno a ese “bios” que se ha constituido en un índice central de la imaginación política del presente (Esposito). La inscripción cultural del animal no sólo descentra la jerarquía normativa de ciertas construcciones de lo humano, sino que pone en juego sensibilidades y formas de conocimiento que desafían discursos normativos alrededor de la “vida”. Mi trabajo se enfoca en la escritura de João Gilberto Noll, a la que considera el umbral más radical o el más preciso desde donde pensar la cuestión de lo animal en la imaginación contemporánea. Busca pensar dos problemas: uno, un cambio de escala en la visibilidad de lo corporal, donde “el cuerpo” se abre a una multiplicidad irreductible de fuerzas y de “formas de vida” que dislocan toda captura bajo el signo del individuo, la clase o la especie; el segundo, la constitución de un saber sobre lo viviente —a partir de la relación con lo animal— que pasa por agenciamientos desde donde se trazan imaginarios anti-normativos sobre lo común, la comunidad y el lazo político.181-194gag206@nyu.eduAnualThe new relevance of the animal in critical debates and in the aesthetic imagination is due not only to a crisis in Humanism and its cutural and political hierarchies. It is also because it harmonizes diverse knowledges around that “bios” which has become a central index of today’s political imagination (Esposito). The cultural inscription of the animal not only decenters the normative hierarchy of certain constructions of the human but also brings into play sensitivities and forms of knowledge that defy normative discourses. This present study focuses on the work of João Gilberto Noll, which for me is the most radical or most precise threshold from where one can ponder the question of the presence of the animal in contemporary imagination. Noll’s work aspires to refl ect on two problems: fi rstly, a change of scale in the visibility of the corporal, where the body opens up to an irreducible multiplicity of forces and “forms of life” that negate any manner of capture under the category of the individual, class or species; secondly, the establishment of a body of knowledge of the living —grounded in the relationship with the animal— which goes through enabling processes from where one can identify anti-normative imaginaries on the ordinary, the community and political network.
