| dc.description | This paper aims to analyze the direct and indirect effects (regional spillover) of foreign direct investment in the Brazilian states on the rate of economic growth. First, was used the procedure of spatial analysis to verify the presence of spatial correlation among the states, and then, we apply econometrics of panel data with spatial weights. The results suggest that foreign direct investment can affect economic growth directly. Also is possible to observe a regional spillover effect positive. However, this relationship demonstrates sensitive to changes in the specification. | en-US |
| dc.description | A presente pesquisa objetiva analisar os efeitos diretos e indiretos (spillover regional) do investimento estrangeiro direto nos estados brasileiros sobre a taxa de crescimento econômico. Para tanto, se utiliza primeiramente o procedimento de análise espacial para se verificar a existência de correlação espacial entre os estados e, posteriormente, o procedimento econométrico de dados em painel com pesos espaciais. Os resultados encontrados sugerem que o investimento estrangeiro direto pode afetar o crescimento econômico de forma direta. Também é possível observar o efeito spillover regional positivo. No entanto, essa relação mostra-se sensível a mudanças na especificação. | pt-BR |
