He tuned it in to the increasing influence of the Media that occurred mainly, in the second half of the 20th century. Barthes’ Semiology is full of particular features. It does not fit strictly into the linguistic frame. It calls for other frames. It seeks the translinguistic aspects. In this landscape, the role of the Media turns into an object of his semiological research. In the diagram of its limitations, the present essay will be conducted towards the relationships between Barthes’ Semiology and the Media. It will reflect on some basic categories that establish a symbiotical relationship between them.en-US
