| dc.description | Félix María Ruiz nació en República Dominicana en 1815. Al pasar el tiempo, los amigos de infancia se encuentran, maduros y con un bagaje intelectual mayor, y sobre todo, por parte de Juan Pablo Duarte, con ideales políticos muy claros respecto de su patria. Poco tiempo después, ambos amigos y otros jóvenes decidieron formar la Sociedad Trinitaria, con el objetivo expedito de liberar a su patria del dominio haitiano. Luego de 6 años de lucha logran su objetivo, el 14 de febrero de 1844. Sin embargo, pasados los primeros regocijos, un rico hacendado llamado Pedro Santana y su ejército particular se hacen del poder, encarcelan a los jóvenes trinitarios y los deportan en diversos barcos al extranjero. Así comienza un largo exilio para Don Félix María y sus compañeros trinitarios. No fue sólo su patria lo que perdió, quedaron allí sus posesiones más amadas: su familia, esposa y tres hijos. Luego de vagar por varios países recala en estas tierras merideñas, donde se radica, desempeña varios oficios y se casa por segunda vez. | |

| dc.description | Félix María Ruiz was born in Republic of the Dominican Republic in 1815. Over time, the childhood friends are, mature and with a bigger intellectual baggage, and mainly, on the part of Juan Pablo Duarte, with very clear political ideals regarding their homeland. Little time later, both friends and other youths decided to form the Trinitarian Society, with the expedite objective of liberating their homeland of the Haitian domain. After 6 years of struggle their objective was achieved, the February 14, 1844. However, after the first joys, a wealthy landowner named Pedro Santana and his particular army are made of the power, they imprison the Trinitarian youths and they deport them in diverse ships to the foreigner. Thus began a long exile to Don Félix María and his Trinitarian partners. It was not only their homeland what he lost; there were there his dearer possessions: his family, wife and three children. After wandering for several countries he landed in Merida, where he lays, carries out several occupations and he marries for second time. | |
