| dc.description | El artículo, a través del modelo histórico genealógico trata de mostrar la participación activa de ciertas mujeres en el movimiento de no violencia de Gandhi y cómo el nacionalismo indio fue un instrumento del que se sirvieron las élites dominantes para alcanzar nuevas cuotas de poder, relegando las propuestas y las peticiones de las incipientes asociaciones de mujeres para conseguir mayores posibilidades de igualdad, ya que cualquier manifestación que no fuera encaminada a la consecución de la independencia era percibida como antinacionalista y por lo tanto, innecesaria. | |

| dc.description | This article, using the historical-genealogical model, is an attempt to show fi rstly, the intense participation of numerous women in the movement of non-violence fomented by Gandhi and secondly, how Indian nationalism was an instrument used by the dominant elite to increase its power, thereby relegating the proposals and requests of incipient women’s groups to get more egalitarian quotas, because any attempt which was not aimed to obtain independence was perceived as antinationalist and therefore, unnecessary. | |
