dc.descriptionEste trabajo presenta los resultados de un proyecto de investigación sobre la Responsabilidad Social Universitaria, desarrollado en el Instituto Universitario de Tecnología del estado Trujillo, extensión El Dividive. El objetivo fue determinar el nivel de correspondencia que existe entre las funciones de docencia, investigación y extensión que cumple el profesor universitario, con su responsabilidad social dentro de la institución universitaria referida. Para esto, se realizó un estudio descriptivo y se aplicó un instrumento tipo cuestionario conformado por 23 ítems, que permitieron recoger la información para medir la variable Pertinencia Social en una muestra de 68 profesores de la extensión. Los resultados obtenidos demuestran un bajo nivel de correspondencia entre las funciones de docencia, investigación y extensión, con su obligación social dentro de la institución, lo que permite afirmar la no Pertinencia Social de los profesores. En atención a este resultado se puede afirmar que el trabajo de responsabilidad social, se relaciona con una emoción individual y no con el compromiso de evaluación ética de las consecuencias sociales en la labor del docente como miembros de una institución de educación superior.

For this, it was carried out a descriptive study and it apply an instrument like a type questionnaire was applied conformed by 23 articles, that allowed to pick up the information to measure the Social variable Relevancy in a sample of 68 professors of the extension. The obtained results demonstrate a low level of correspondence among the faculty functions, investigation and extension, with their social obligation inside the institution what allows to not affirm the professors Social Relevancy. In attention to this result, one can affirm that the work of social responsibility is related with a individual emotion and not with the commitment of ethical evaluation of the social consequences of the work teaching with the social responsibility as members of an institution of superior education.
