| dc.description | Se presenta el análisis de la condición del arbolado de las áreas verdes públicas del Parque Nacional Xicohténcatl, ubicado en el estado de Tlaxcala, México. Su superficie es de 600.00 ha; incluye al centro histórico de la ciudad de Tlaxcala. Solo existen relictos de vegetación natural con ejemplares aislados de Pinus leiphylla y Juniperus deppeana y vestigios de la vegetación de galería. Es un área urbanizada, por lo que el análisis de la diversidad florística y de las condiciones fitosanitarias del arbolado se realizó en las áreas verdes localizadas al interior del parque. Se determinaron 47 especies, 33 géneros y 21 familias; solo tres familias representan cerca de 80% de árboles registrados. Respecto a características dasométricas, se encontraron ejemplares desde 1.5 m hasta 37.0 m de alto, con promedio de 7.78 m, las más frecuentes son entre 2.50 y 4.99 m; tocante al DAP, se encontraron desde 1.9 cm hasta 168.7 cm, con promedio de 24.9 cm; los más frecuentes son entre 10 y 14.9 cm. Sobre las condiciones fitosanitarias, los árboles registrados en plazas presentan mejor calidad que los de las calles, no se registraron problemas graves. Los principales requerimientos de manejo son podas, remoción de interferencias y reparación de cavidades y heridas. A partir de la información generada se proponen líneas generales de manejo del arbolado del Parque. | |

| dc.description | We present the analysis of the woodland condition of the Parque Nacional Xicohténcatl green public areas, located in Tlaxcala, Mexico. Its surface is 600.00 has, it is between the 19°20’ 20.8” and 19°18’ 11.0” North latitude and 98°13’ 28.6” and 98° 14’ 17.39” West longitude; it includes the historical downtown of Tlaxcala city. It only exists relicts of natural vegetation with isolated specimens of Pinus leiphylla and Juniperus deppeana and vestiges of the vegetation of gallery. It is an urbanized area, that is why the analysis of the floristic diversity and the phytosanitory conditions of the woodland was carried out in the green areas located inside the park. 47 species, 33 genres and 21 families were identified; only three families represent near 80% of registered trees. With regard to dasometric characteristics, specimens were found from 1.5 m up to 37.0 m high, with average of 7.78 m, the most frequent are between 2.50 and 4.99 m; with respect to the DBH, specimens were found from 1.9 cm up to 168.7 cm, with average of 24.9 cm; the most frequent are between 10 and 14.9 cm. About the phytosanitory conditions, the trees registered in squares present better quality than those of the streets, serious problems were not registered. The main requirements of management are pruning, removal of interferences and repair of cavities and wounds. From the generated information a general plan of management of the woodland of the Park was proposed. | |
