Interacciones morfofonología, morfosintaxis y morfosemántica en el dominio de la palabra en wichí (mataguaya)

Abstract

Este trabajo tiene como propósito examinar y discutir los tipos de interacción de niveles lingüísticos en el dominio de la palabra a partir del análisis del léxico wichí (lengua mataguaya). Se estudian fenómenos en los que interactúan morfología-fonología (en el nivel del segmento y prosódico), morfología-sintaxis y morfología-semántica. Se postula como hipótesis que la interacción puede ser de dos tipos: de solapamiento y de condicionamiento y alteración, ocurriendo esta última sólo en la morfofonología y en la morfosemántica. Enmarcado en la tipología funcional, este trabajo se propone contribuir a la discusión vigente sobre las interfaces en el lenguaje con una perspectiva novedosa.

This paper analyzes and discusses the types of interaction between linguistic levels in the word domain, examining data from Wichi (a Mataguayan language). It focuses on a number of phenomena that show an interaction between morphology and phonology (at segmental and prosodic levels), morphology and syntax, and morphology and semantics. It is hypothesized that two types of interactions exist: overlapping, on the one hand, and conditioning and alteration, on the other. Conditioning occurs only in morphophonology and morphosemantics. The study is carried out within the framework of functional typology and it is expected to contribute with a novel perspective to current discussions on interfaces in language.
