A avaliação neoliberal na universidade e a responsabilidade social dos pesquisadores

Abstract

Esta comunicação constitui um fragmento de um projeto de estudo mais amplo, desenvolvido a partir da idéia de que a universidade vem sendo submetida a uma reforma neoliberal, cujo sentido é o de promover sua mercantilização. O tópico tratado é o do regime de trabalho dos pesquisadores, visto a partir dos sistemas de avaliação da produtividade que constituem sua peça-chave. Por violar certas intuições, o caráter quantitativo da avaliação neoliberal é posto como algo a ser explicado. São propostas três explicações, das quais emerge a concepção de que o regime de trabalho imposto pela reforma neoliberal aos pesquisadores constitui uma forma de taylorismo. Examinam-se a seguir algumas das conseqüências nefastas do taylorismo na universidade, particularmente a que afeta o exercício da responsabilidade social da ciência.

This paper is a fragment of a broader project of study developed from the idea that the University is being subjected to a neoliberal reform whose significance is that of promoting its commodification. The topic dealt with is that of the regime of work of the researchers, seen from the point of view of the systems of evaluation of productivity that constitute its key-component. Since it violates certain intuitions, the quantitative nature of neoliberal evaluation is presented as something to be explained. Three explanations are proposed, from which a conception emerges where the work regime imposed by the neoliberal reform on researchers constitutes a form of Taylorism. Some of the deleterious consequences of Taylorism in the University are then examined, in particular the one affecting the exercise of social responsibility in science.
