This research is performed to evaluate the electrochemical behavior of a Poly (3,4-Ethilenedioxythiophene)-Gold Nanoparticles modified Gold electrode (PEDOT-NPAu). The evaluation was performed by using Cyclic Voltammetry and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy measurements, as well as Transmission Electron Microscopy for the microscopic analysis of the modified electrode surface. It was measured a lower impedance magnitude for the modified electrode than the only-gold electrode in the whole evaluated frequency range (1 Hz – 1 MHz); besides, by using Cyclic Voltammetry it was confirmed that the modified electrode has an increased sensibility in comparison with the only-gold electrode. Finally, the applicability of the chemical modification with PEDOT-NPAu in pesticide detection is shown by using an enzymatic reaction between Acetylcholinesterase and Acetylthiocholine with and without a pesticide who acts as an enzymatic inhibitor, it was measured a falling of 5 μA in the current associated with the reaction.
