Resumen
The execution of this research was performed at the Costa Rican location of Amoena. It was developed with the collaboration of Instituto Tecnológico de Costa and had, as its main goal, the determination of whether a change of supplier was achievable and convenient for the company or not. The materials under study were cloths utilized in the production of brassieres´ cups. The initial course of action was to generate a list of the properties with the greatest effect on the fabrics´ performances during their processing as well as during their end use as bra cups. These properties were evaluated by multiple techniques and the comparison of the results clearly show that it is possible to go ahead with the change of supplier. The fact is that the new supplier, a company named Darlington Fabrics, provides cloths with a better mixture of properties than that of the old suppliers´ cloths (Taubert Brothers). With all other things being equal, this chance may increase Amoena´s revenue and its products quality.
