Making a short circuit study requires several criteria for simulating common components in industrial power systems. This study seeks to compare results obtained following criteria of ANSI/IEEE 141-1993 and ANSI/IEEE 551-2006 with those obtained by the simulation methods used by Energética Soluciones y Consultoría to verify the reliability of results. Values were achieved with errors below 7% in asymmetric currents at 1 cycle, standards recommendations were analyzed for simulation of different electrical components and a mathematical application of criteria of ANSI/IEEE standards.
