A partir do conceito de ideologia, e da relação cosmologia-ideologia, colocados pelo antropólogo Eric Wolf, toma-se o movimento dos auto-intitulados singularitarians para pensá-los em termos de ideias e poder. Construída como uma complexa rede de instituições e pessoas, a ideologia é submetida a uma crítica política que a coloca como um movimento do contexto contemporâneo do Vale do Silício. Nesse contexto ela é constituída pela influência inequívoca da cibernética, do transhumanismo e da ideologia da Califórnia. O Singularismo será tomado a partir de três grandes temáticas, a saber, i. inteligência artificial amigável; ii. guerra anti-envelhecimento e iii. fusão homem-máquina; ligadas a uma relação autor-instituição, respectivamente, i. Elizer Yudkowsky e o MIRI; ii. Aubrey deGrey e o SRF; iii. Ray Kurzweil e a Singularity University. A dissertação sugere por fim, que o Singularismo como rede e ideologia é uma das formas contemporâneas onde podemos observar a reconfiguração da relação centro-periferia, através do conceito de rede verticalAbstract: The present masters dissertation is the result of a research about Singularism, thought of as an ideology. Using the ideology concept, and the cosmology-ideology relation, as theorized by the anthropologist Eric Wolf, the movement of the self-entitled singularitarians will be analyzed in terms of ideas and power. Constructed as a complex web of persons and institutions, that ideology is submitted to a political critique which shows it off as a movement, part of the contemporary context of the Silicon Valley. This movement is constituted by the unequivocal influence of cybernetics, transhumanism and the Californian Ideology. Singularism is going to be analyzed through three major themes, i. Friendly Artificial Intelligence; ii. Anti-aging war; iii. Human-machine merger; connected to an author-institution relation which brings, respectively, i. Eliezer Yudkowsky and MIRI; ii. Aubrey deGrey and SRF; and iii. Ray Kurzweil and Singularity University.
