| dc.description | Resumo: O presente estudo trata da vida musical de Campinas no período de transição dos séculos XIX e XX, entre os anos de 1889 e 1922, e busca identificar e observar seus caminhos e características desenvolvidos a partir das heranças musicais existentes, cujo movimento e maior relevância tiveram início durante os anos 1870. Durante essa década e pelos tempos seguintes, estabeleceram-se os principais fundamentos do universo musical na cidade, junto aos momentos de enriquecimento da vida cultural em florescimento no contexto do crescimento econômico impulsionado pela produção cafeeira nos territórios do município paulista, que se constituiu como centro urbano de referência nacional em seu processo de modernização. Como objeto histórico, a pesquisa procurou pela música em suas diversas formas de cultivo, usos e apreciações, inserida nos universo social, econômico e cultural da cidade, e revelada em parte como produto de complexas combinações desses fatores na grande trama de relações presentes no espaço urbano. O estudo buscou-a, portanto, envolta na variedade cultural e social de indivíduos e grupos ali existentes, entre aproximações e confrontos, imersos em um período de transformações políticas e de prementes questões sociais. Observaram-se ainda manifestações musicais segundo a diversidade de seus gêneros e suas variabilidades, alterações de práticas e funções no meio cultural em que emergia a expansão das tecnologias e do consumo, bem como seus principais espaços físicos de concretização, entre tradicionais e novos, segundo a marcha das novidades de entretenimento público trazidas pela renovação dos séculos. No todo, fez-se grande objetivo conhecer e acompanhar os percursos da música no universo campineiro entre importantes passagens de tempo, identificando processos de transição entre antigas e novas práticas e tendências musicais e, às vezes, a convivência entre elas | |
| dc.description | Abstract: This study deals with the musical life of Campinas in the period of transition of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, between 1889 and 1922, and aims to identify and to observe its ways and characteristics developed by the musical heritages, whose movement and more important relevance started during the 1870¿s. In this decade and by the following times, have stablished the fundamental basis of the city¿s musical universe, with the enrichment of the cultural life in emergence by the economic growing context, pushed by the coffee production in the paulista city¿s territories, that has formed as an urban center of national reference in its modernization process. As a historical object, the search has looked for the music in its several ways of cultivation, uses and appreciations, inside of the social, economic and cultural city¿s universe, and revealed like a product of complex combinations of these factors in the big web of relationships in the urban space. The study has looked for it inside of the cultural and social variety of individuals and groups, between approaches and confrontations, immersed in a period of political changes and important social issues. The musical manifestations have been observed by the diversity of theirs genres and variabilities, alteration of practices and functions in the cultural environment in that emerged the expansion of tecnologies and consumption, as well as their more important spaces of achievement, between traditional and news ones, by the running of the new public entertainment ways brought by the passage of the centuries. At all, the big objective was know and follow the music¿s courses in the universe of Campinas in this significant transition of time and identify the change¿s process between old and new practices and between musical trends, with their possible simultaneous existence | |
