The depository for the primary types of the new species Emersonella appendigaster Alvarenga, Costa & Hansson, 2015 and Emersonella frieirocostai Alvarenga, Costa & Hansson, 2015 is the Museu de Zoologia, Universidade de Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo, Brazil (MZSP).
